A Kansas City woman has been charged with murder in the recent fatal stabbing of George Hamilton in a residence on East 35th Street.

Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker charged Clarisa D. Baldwin, 35 with Murder in the 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.

According to court records, Kansas City police were dispatched late Monday to the 2700 block of East 35th Street on a reported cutting. They found the victim, George Hamilton, 40, on the sidewalk. He had suffered multiple cuts and punctures consistent with a knifing. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Witnesses said they heard arguments outside the residence. One witness stated that the suspect, when told to leave the victim alone, responded “No, he took my phone.” Witnesses observed the suspect stab the victim several times.

Prosecutors requested a bond of $150,000.
