Independence, Mo., police are searching Friday for a carjacking suspect they believe is armed.

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — Police in Independence, Mo., are searching Friday for an armed man they say was involved in a carjacking.

Police say they saw the suspect take off in a stolen vehicle with a horse trailer attached.

Around 10:40 a.m., Independence police found the damaged vehicle near South Avenue and Forest. Officers believe the suspect wrecked the vehicle then ran off.

Police believe the man is armed.

Kansas City, Mo., police are helping with the search.
