KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A metro woman has been missing for more than a week, and there are still no signs of Jessica Runions. Her burned out SUV remains the best clue that investigators have to work with.

FOX 4 continues to learn more about Kylr Yust, who's charged with setting that fire. He was also the last person seen with Runions.

Court records show that Yust has had at least two orders of protection against him. A police report from 2011 outlines why one ex-girlfriend said she needed legal help to keep Yust away from her.

The now 23-year-old woman told police she was pregnant with twins in 2011 when Yust tried to strangle her. She said she feared for her life.

It was July, 2011, when the then 18-year-old said Yust came home very drunk and the two got fought because she wanted to end the relationship.

The woman told police that Yust dragged her into the bedroom, pinned her on the bed, looked into her eyes, grinding his teeth and licking his lips as he placed both hands around her neck.

When the woman began screaming, she told police that Yust said, “If you scream again, I will kill you faster than you can let out another scream out of your throat.”

The woman said Yust would choke her until she almost passed out, stop and then punch her in the legs so she would not lose consciousness.

The pattern continued and the woman eventually did pass out.  She told police when she came around, Yust was laying next to her, whispering “I love you” in her ear.

The woman told police while he was strangling her, Yust said, “I have killed people before, even ex-girlfriends out of sheer jealousy; I will kill you.”

She also claimed Yust threatened her family and said he'd kill her little sister if the girlfriend went to police. The incident and threats caused the woman to fear for her life, so she said at that time she didn't report Yust.

The woman also told police on two occasions she saw Yust kill.

In the summer of 2011, the woman stated that when she came home from work, she saw him in the bathroom slamming their kitten on the floor repeatedly. She told police she tried to stop Yust, but he slammed the door, locked it and continued beating the kitten on the bathroom floor, intentionally killing it.

In another incident, the woman told police that Yust put her two other kittens into a sack and threw the sack, which still contained the living kittens, into a creek. Yust told his girlfriend he did it because the kittens did not deserve to live.

The woman also told police Yust hit, slapped and choked her until she threw up, held her down and drew a pentagon on her forehead one night, speaking something she did not understand.

The woman reported she was scared of Yust because he told her he had family with a ranch where there were pigs that would eat anything, including bones, and that he had seen arms ripped off people while they were still alive. He also said he had seen people dropped in barrels of acid to destroy evidence.

He told her no one would ever find her.

Yust is currently in jail, held on a $50,000 bond and is due back in court on September 29. If you know anything about the disappearance of Jessica Runions, call police immediately.
