KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Police are investigating a shooting that took place at a convenience store in KCK on Monday.

Officers were called to a store at 6828 Kaw Drive just after 3 p.m.

FOX 4 spoke with employees at the store, who said an argument occurred among customers inside the store shortly before the shooting. The argument then reportedly carried on outside, where the shooting took place.

The victim was shot right outside the front door. Witnesses reported hearing three shots fired; the victim then fell back into a stack of cases of bottled water.

One shell casing was found a bit farther back from the store, but police aren't sure if it was from this most recent shooting or perhaps previous gunfire.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There are currently no suspects in custody.

The store has since re-opened.
