KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police arrested a suspect on Wednesday night who is believed to be responsible for a burglary and series of attempted burglaries in the Brookside neighborhood.

Officers captured the suspect near Wornall and Huntington following several 911 calls about the crimes, which set off an intense manhunt. A neighbor told FOX 4's Katie Banks that the suspect had knocked on their window, attempting to get into their home.

Police eventually found the suspect in a detached garage and arrested him. While there were reports that he was armed, officers didn't find a gun when they arrested him. At one point the suspect struggled with a homeowner over a gun in an attempt to steal it, but was unable to and moved on to find other victims.

Nobody was hurt during the crime spree. FOX 4 will update this story with further details about the suspect and any formal allegations against him once charges are filed.
