KCK Fire Department issues burn ban for city due to high winds

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Kansas City Kansas Fire Department issued a burn ban for the City of Kansas City, Kan., starting Monday due to high winds.

The fire department says all open burning should be avoided and the issuance of new permits will not be allowed until the ban is lifted.

“When wind speeds, and acceptable conditions allow, the Kansas City Kansas Fire Department will send out updated notifications,” the fire department said in a news release.
