LIBERTY, Mo. -- Clay County prosecutors say no charges will be filed in an AMBER ALERT case that got a lot of attention Monday.

Liberty police issued the alert because a 13-year-old girl went to get coffee with a 38-year-old man and never returned.

Family members said the teen barely knew the man, who had a long criminal history.

"She was unaccounted for, she barely knew the man, and it was one of those things were based on history information with his criminal history we thought there was a very good reason she might be in danger," Liberty Police Captain Andy Hedrick said.

The teen was found safe in Gladstone along with the man.

Authorities did say the man will face charges from an old warrant.
