KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person has died in a Saturday morning traffic accident on Barry Road, police said.

Investigators said a tan vehicle  was traveling westbound on NW Barry Road around 11:30 a.m. when the accident occurred. Witnesses said it appeared the driver was having difficulty keeping the vehicle on the roadway.

The driver reportedly ran off the road several times, twice striking signs on the north side of the roadway.

The driver continued traveling west on NW Barry Road, but just before reaching Chariton, crossed over the center line of the roadway and struck a white pickup truck head-on.

The driver of the tan vehicle was transported to an area hospital where they were pronounced dead. The occupants in the white truck were all transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was identified later on Saturday at 65-year-old Regina A. Blair of Kansas City, Mo.
