Local doctor shares strides medical community has made in Alzheimer’s research

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Recently, the man who coached the Chiefs for a decade, Marty Schottenheimer, revealed he has early on-set Alzheimer's disease. His wife says he got the diagnosis five years ago. FOX 4 invited Dr. Jeff Burns of KU's Alzheimer Disease Center to the morning show to discuss the disease and how medical professionals are trying to slow its progression while searching for a cause and cure.
