Prairie Village police search for two suspects who broke into home and stole handgun from elderly couple

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. — The Prairie Village Police Department is searching for two men who broke into an elderly couple’s home early Friday morning while they were in bed and stole cash and other items.

Police say around 4:21 a.m., officers were dispatch to a home near 69th and Granada upon reports of an aggravated burglary that just occurred.

The 99-year-old man and 89-year-old woman told police two white males wearing masks and armed with handguns entered their bedroom then stole items from the residence including a handgun.

Police say the suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.

So far, there is no information on a suspect vehicle.

The suspects were described as white males, both approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall to 6 feet tall with thin builds. Police say they were wearing black ski masks, dark-colored hooded sweatshirts, and clear latex gloves. Both were armed with unknown type handguns.

The couple was not physically injured.
