Police chase carjackers, pursuit ends near Argosy Casino

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police arrested two people after a pursuit through Kansas City that began when officers spotted a stolen car and attempted to pull over the driver.The pursuit ended near Argosy Casino with a driver and passenger taken into custody, according to Kansas City police.

The incident began at about 1:30 p.m. near 24th and Jackson where an officer spotted a vehicle that matched the description of one carjacked earlier in the morning.

Officers attempted to pull the driver over, but they sped away, initiating a chase.

During the chase, police say the driver struck two police cruisers involved in the pursuit, as well as another car, and was eventually caught at U.S. 69/I-635 ramp for southbound traffic. No officers were injured. The woman in the other car was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
