KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- KCI Airport was a busy place Wednesday as many prepared to head out of town.
KCI is expecting 10 percent more people traveling this year compared to last year.
Just between Wednesday and Sunday KCI expects 424,000 people to pass through their gates as 3,630 flights will arrive and depart out of the airport.
KCI officials says travels should arrive early and know where they're going to help make their trip run smoother.
Travels can also print out their itinerary and check in online, as well as register for electronic flight updates using their cell phone.
“It’s a busy time of the year for us," airport deputy director Justin Meyer said. "In fact Sunday is going to be our busiest day of the year, so we’re asking everyone to arrive just a little bit early and pack lots of patience.”
Meyer said travelers should be aware of the airlines carry-on policies, such as the 3-1-1 rule, which limits the amount of liquid a passenger can bring on in airplane in his carry-on baggage.
