INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- Toys for Tots and Harvesters are teaming up this holiday season, and on Friday they kicked off their 23rd annual toy and food drive.

Harvesters is the region's largest food bank, which was founded by catholic priest Father Patrick Tobin to help the needy in the city.

Local radio station KPRS also joined in on the drive by broadcasting live from the Walmart along 40-Highway.

"To be able to hand this (a stuffed dog) to a child, it's the best feeling in the world," one of the Marines working the toy drive said.
