Kansas City police investigate shooting at home near Tower Park

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City neighborhood turned into a crime scene on Monday afternoon where police say a gunman shot someone standing in the door of a home.

Investigators say that victim is expected to survive, officers are now investigating the shooting near 74th Terrace and Oak. They have not said what led to the shooting.

The victim told police he was in his bedroom when the two suspects forced their way inside. One suspect pulled out a handgun and pistol whipped the victim across his face. When he did, the handgun went off and struck the victim in his left cheek area.

According to the victim, the suspect grabbed two pairs of shoes and left the scene in a gray BMW.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and is listed in stable condition.
