Independence man driving the wrong direction on Highway-50 dead after crashing into and seriously injuring another driver

JACKSON COUNTY, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash  that occurred late Friday night.

State troopers say the crash happened around 9:33 p.m., on Highway-50 just west of Lone Jack.

David Parton, 40, died at the scene. The online crash report says he was not wearing his seat belt and driving the wrong direction along Highway-50 for approximately two minutes before he crashed into a 63-year-old woman who sustained serious injuries.
