KANSAS CITY, Mo. – By Saturday night, the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats just might be a repeat national champion for NCAA Division II football, and the Baker Wildcats might be NAIA national champions.

The Wildcats left Baldwin City Tuesday morning, flying from KCI on a charter flight to Orlando.

They're set to meet St. Francis of Indiana for the national championship, and set to call the game on radio is 82-year- old Tom Hedrick.

Hedrick has been around the block and then some; he's been in broadcasting since 1954, calling 650 football games, 2,400 basketball games, and 2,200 baseball games.

At his core, Hedrick is a Baker boy through and through.
