OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — An Overland Park apartment complex was evacuated Tuesday morning due to a fire.

According to the Overland Park Fire Department, the fire occurred at the Evergreen Apartment Complex, which is west of Antioch and east of I-35.

The fire department tweeted at 8:30 a.m. that the fire is under control and no one was injured.

A spokesperson for the fire department say the fire began in a chimney and spread into a surrounding wall.

In all, three units were damaged and six residents were displaced.

Apartment management or the Red Cross will assist residents with relocation.
