Mustafa Ali is charged with 1st degree robbery, 1st degree assault, 1st degree burglary, and two counts of armed criminal action for his role in the incident.

Court documents say Ali and another suspect entered the victim’s residence at 74th Terrace and Oak Street on the afternoon of Dec. 5. The victim told investigators he knew the suspects from high school.

The suspects allegedly entered a room in which the victim was playing a video game and began taking items and putting them into a bag. Ali made demands of the victim, but the victim refused to comply and instead tried to tackle Ali.

In the scuffle, Ali pulled a revolver from his waist and shot the victim in the face as he pistol whipped him. The victim said he immediately pretended to be dead.

He said Ali and the other suspect then searched the house for more items before leaving. The victim was later transported to a hospital.

After an investigation, Mustafa Ali was arrested on Monday and booked at the Gladstone police station.

Prosecutors have requested a bond of $200,000.
