Kansas City Police investigating deadly shooting along Independence Avenue

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Police are at the scene of a shooting on Friday night where one person is dead.

Police dispatchers say investigators have roped off a crime scene at Independence Avenue and Wilson where there’s a Phillips 66 gas station, and there’s also a Price Chopper nearby. Investigators are focused on a car wash.

A spokesman says that officers were called to the area at about 6:30 p.m. where they found a black male in his mid-20’s inside a parked vehicle at that car wash. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
