Rockhurst High teacher fired after violating student communication policy, officials say

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Rockhurst High School has fired a teacher for violating student communication policy, school officials say.

In a statement, Rockhurst said it learned about the problem Dec. 1. The issue involves contact with a student via social media.

The school said the teacher was fired Dec. 4 but did not release the teacher's name.

Local law enforcement is investigating.
