KC police investigate suspicious package found in Plaza parking garage

KCPD Bomb and Arson Unit responds to a report of a suspicious package in a parking garage on the Plaza.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are investigating a reported suspicious package in a parking garage on the Plaza.

KCPD’s Bomb and Arson Unit responded to the scene near Central and J.C. Nichols Parkway, according to a KCPD tweet.

Nearby roads and stores in the immediate area were evacuated. Police asked the public to avoid the area.

FOX4 learned that the package was found in the lower level of the garage.

Police did a preliminary x-ray and did not find anything dangerous. The bag contained some kind of liquid, but police wouldn’t be more specific.
