One person killed in double shooting near 22nd and Walrond

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person has died Thursday after two people were shot in a vehicle in Kansas City.

Police were called around 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon to 18th and Prospect. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle with two victims inside.

One victim, a man in his 50s, died on scene. The second victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the shooting actually happened near 22nd and Walrond, and the two victims then drove to 18th and Prospect and called police.

Investigators are looking for suspect described as a black man who has a stocky build and is 6-foot-2 with short hair, wearing a dark grey or black tank top. Police said he was seen leaving 22nd and Walrond on foot.
