KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A 79-year-old man has died following a crash Wednesday afternoon in Kansas City, Mo.
Police tell FOX4 the driver of a stolen converted ambulance was driving at a high rate of speed through the intersection of Bannister and Wornall when it t-boned a F-150. The collision sent the vehicle 18 to 20 feet into the air.
The 79-year-old driver of the pickup, David L. Cannon, died at an area hospital. Police said he was wearing a seatbelt.
Police said they are continuing to look for the suspect of the stolen vehicle who caused the crash. He is described as a light skinned male and is likely injured.
The crash knocked out power when the pickup flew 20-25 feet in the air after the collision, breaking a traffic control light and bringing down live wires.
Police initially told FOX4 he was 80 years old. FOX4 has since learned he is 79. He would have been 80 in December.
