Lockdowns lifted for two Shawnee Mission schools after chase from Kansas City ends in Overland Park

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Overland Park police says it's captured one of two suspects from a police chase that started in Kansas City. The subsequent search caused lock downs at two Shawnee Mission School Districts schools.

Indian Woods Middle School and John Diemer Elementary School were locked down while police looked for the other suspect, but that has since been lifted.

FOX4's Rob Collins reports the chase began Thursday morning when officers spotted a truck reported stolen out of Raytown, Kansas Highway Patrol picked up the pursuit when the fleeing driver crossed the state line. The suspects then dumped the truck pictured below near 101st and Horton.

There's currently a limited description of the suspects, police only say both are men. FOX4 is getting more information, refresh this page for updates.
