Metro fire department steps in to help get veteran’s American flag flying again

GRANDVIEW, Mo. — Some metro firefighters stepped up this weekend to help a veteran’s family with a broken flagpole.

The Grandview Fire Department said they got a call from the family of a Vietnam veteran at the end of June. The department said his flag pole had broken right before the Fourth of July.

The department said that on Saturday some off-duty firefighters came in and donated their own time to get the veteran’s flag flying again.
