Kerri Stowell

Kerri Stowell is an Emmy-nominated Traffic Reporter/Producer, News Reporter at FOX4 News in Kansas City, Missouri. Kerri moved to Kansas City in August 2010. Since then, she’s reported live from breaking news and covered numerous community events. Her favorite stories include showcasing WGN America’s first original scripted series Salem, spending a weeklong journey with the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition crew, and learning how to skydive with the U.S. Army Golden Knights.

Kerri is a regular guest speaker at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Park University and Johnson County Community College. She also volunteers her special events emceeing skills for local organizations, including St. Mary’s Hospital’s Butterfly Ball and Child Abuse Prevention Association’s Black & Orange Bash. The Pitch (alternative newspaper) named Kerri Kansas City’s 2nd Best Local TV News Personality in 2012.

Before coming to WDAF-TV, Kerri was a Weekend Anchor at KMTV in Omaha, Nebraska. While covering Warren Buffett’s annual shareholders’ meeting, Kerri was one of the international journalists selected to sit down for a one-on-one interview with the American business magnate and philanthropist.

Prior to joining KMTV, Kerri worked at KCAU-TV in Sioux City, Iowa. During her time there, Kerri was touched, both professionally and personally, by the impact of flying with the 185th Air Refueling Wing in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and providing up-to-the-minute battle-state coverage during a very heated presidential election – including an interview with Elizabeth Edwards.

Kerri graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a degree in Communications, emphasis in Media Studies. During her time at UMKC, Kerri earned internships at KSHB-TV in Kansas City and KSNT-TV in Topeka, Kansas, as well as an independent cable operation in Olathe, Kansas.

Off camera, Kerri enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling the globe and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
