I was born and raised In Kansas City – as you know home of the Chiefs and the best BBQ in the country. Ever since I was 12 and would set up an ironing board in the living room pretending to anchor, I’ve known. Known that I’ve wanted to work in news to share people’s stories, give a voice to the voiceless and power back to the communities that make us who we are.

In May of 2020, I graduated from the University of Kansas – where the team and I won several national Hearst awards and more. What makes me prouder than the awards we won or the accolades we received was the fact that I was asked to sit on the diversity and inclusion board, which gave me an opportunity to help diversify and play a role in making sure more people that look like me have an equal shot of reaching for the stars – inside and outside of the newsroom.

After graduation, I went to Knoxville, TN in September of 2020, I made the leap to a state and a city I had never been to. Hired on as a General Assignment reporter at WBIR, I had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented journalists in this field and for a station that is Straight from the Heart, a station with a unique connection with the community that no other station in that market has. Also continuing my work on the diversity and inclusion board there ensuring all voices are heard and appreciated.

I enjoy telling the stories about the community and how it is helping itself through good times or bad times, stories that will help effect change not just for the here and now but for generations to come. I love sharing stories that show off how our diversity makes us better and how when we work together there really isn’t anything we can’t do! Kansas City, I’m back home and I am so excited to tell your stories!
