Tia Johnson

Tia Johnson joined the FOX4 news team as a reporter in September of 2020. 

Though she is a Texas girl at heart, Tia is no stranger to the Midwest. 

She came to FOX4 from WBAY-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin where she worked as a multimedia journalist for two years.

Tia covered multiple stories throughout Northeast Wisconsin, including the Packers road to the NFC Championship Game in 2020, and local, state and national politics. 

She was a Wisconsin Broadcasters Association award recipient for “Best Online Personality” in 2019.

During her time in Green Bay, Tia emceed and hosted numerous school and community events. She also shares her experience as a reporter with inspiring journalists at her alma mater, Prairie View A&M University. Go Panthers!

Tia previously worked at KTRE, an ABC affiliate, in Lufkin, Texas as a multimedia journalist.

She got her first start in journalism in her hometown of Houston, Texas when she reported for her high school’s news program during senior year. 

Tia enjoys trying new food, shopping, karaoke and mentoring the youth.

She is a member of The National Association of Black Journalist.

Tia loves connecting with the community and is happy to call Kansas City home. She looks forward to becoming a trusted journalist people can rely on and inspiring young girls who look like her.
