KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Alex Smith took a break from training on Thursday to help supply equipment to kids with special needs.
Smith partnered with HyVee to donate special equipment, as well as a check for $75,000 to Variety KC at Shoal Creek Golf Course prior to the HyVee Golf Scramble. The equipment will allow kids with special needs to be better included in the community and the check will help Variety KC purchase even more equipment for those with special needs.
“This one is special,” Smith said. “It’s my second year here. Getting to know Variety the last couple years. Just a really, really great organization helping special needs kids in the area.”
