“Congratulations. You have been accepted.” They’re words every college-minded person wants to hear.

For Rion Holcombe, a 20-year-old Down syndrome student, it was a moment mixed with elation and disbelief.

“I got accepted?” he asked after hearing the news.

Indeed he did.

Video of Holcombe opening the acceptance letter was posted to YouTube on Dec. 6. The heartwarming moment captured on camera has been seen nearly 900,000 times.

Holcombe was accepted into the Clemson Life program at Clemson University in South Carolina. The program is designed for students will intellectual disabilities who want to pursue a post-secondary education on a college campus. Holcombe will begin his studies in the fall of 2014.
