We live in a rapidly changing world. People wants solutions in a faster and more cost effective manner. How does an employee or business owner stay relevant? Miller shares five keys to help you stay in front of teh crowd.

We have all heard the impact that summer vacation can have on children when they return to school. The teachers have to refresh them before taking them to next level of studies. No refresher is required when you are always learning. Make it a practice to read a book, article and study top performers in your industry. Weekly you should be gaining new information.

Technology is your friend: If you are able to discover or reveal a way to offer same or better service in a more cost effective manner then you will always win. Make it a practice to review new technology at least four times a year. Look to see how any of those items could help your business and or career

Talk to your customers: Everyone has a customer. Your customer may be internal or external. Ask them how you could make life easier for them. Many times conversations will reveal process that have become obsolete and birth a new method

Children are the future: Kids are very honest. Take your child to work day can benefit YOU. Allow them to see what you do, ask them for feedback and you may be surprised what you will learn. You can not be sensitive because they may crush your feelings but you may be able to gain some valuable information.

Network, Network, Network: You have to get outside of your comfort zone. Attend trade shows, conference, workshop, meet-up groups and learn what others are doing. Do not be afraid to start and host your own group. Remember to lead the pack you have to be in front. Do not be afraid to be the FIRST.
