KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Kansas City metro area is the home for more than 2,000 homeless veterans who desperately need help. Epecially now as they prepare for the upcoming winter.
As Veteran’s Day approaches, a local organization is hoping you’ll help vets living in the metro stay warm and healthy.
Bob Waechter, founder of the Heart of America Stand Down Foundation, appeared on Monday’s FOX 4 Morning Show to talk about the group’s boot drive for veterans. They group is accepting donations starting Monday at Memorial Hall located at 700 N. 7th Street in Kansas City, Kan.
Veterans will be able to pick up boots and other items on Friday.
