OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- In 1963, the academy of motion picture arts and sciences nominated Mary Badham for best supporting actress for her portrayal of "Scout" in the 1962 film ‘To Kill a Mockingbird.’

Badham was in Kansas City to make an appearance after the Jewish Community Center presented ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
