KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A 13-year-old boy has been shot Thursday night in KCK, police say.

KCK Police Spokesman Thomas Tomasic said the shooting happened when the young boy was riding four-wheelers with an adult relative. He was riding a different four-wheeler than his relative, Tomasic said.

The shooting happened near 61st and Nogard, and then the 13-year-old was brought to 59th and Webster, which is about a mile away. Police were called around 8 p.m.

The 13-year-old was shot in the stomach area. Police believe the shooting was intentional. The adult relative was also grazed by a bullet, Tomasic said.

KCK police said the child is in serious but now stable condition at a local hospital.

Police do not have any clear suspect information at this time. They are asking for the public’s help to figure out what happened.
