Officials identify 2 people killed in crash near K-5 and Marxen Road on Leavenworth-Wyandotte County line

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Two people have died following a one-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on the Leavenworth/Wyandotte County line.

The crash, involving a pickup truck, was reported around 1:15 p.m. near K-5 and Marxen Road, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. This is about 3 miles west of Lakeside Speedway.

The driver of the pickup was traveling south on K-5 when they went off the roadway, overcorrected and lost control, striking a tree.

The two people killed have been identified as 36-year-old SaraKay Snell, who was the driver of the pickup and 19-year-old Calob Crow, who was a passenger in the vehicle. Both were from Lansing, Kansas.

Both Snell and Crow were wearing seat belts, according to KHP.

KHP is investigating the crash.
