KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two men have been killed at the same metro bar in the past seven months. Officers responded to Bob’s N Motion Saturday night shortly before 8 p.m. on a call of a shooting. Police said the victim later died from his injuries.

Police on Monday identified the victim as 43-year-old Derrick Wren of Kansas City, Mo.

Last September, 46-year-old Royce Jeffries was killed at the bar when he was working there as a bouncer. The former Oklahoma State Basketball player was a father of three.

His daughter, Porschea Jeffries, said she doesn’t blame the bar management for the shootings.

“You can’t stop what people are going to do. They have security footage, they have as much security as they can,” she told FOX 4 on Sunday.

Police said Jeffries was trying to break up a fight and had to remove some people from the bar. Then, a man who was involved in the fight came back in and started shooting. Porschea Jeffries said she hates that another family will have to go through what she did.

“I just wish people would get it together. It’s unfortunate that we continue to lose lives over something so senseless,” she said.

The owner at Bob’s N Motion said he could not talk to FOX 4 about the incident yet.
