KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police are investigating after a child was grazed by a bullet in South Kansas City. Investigators said around 3:30 Sunday morning they were dispatched to 9108 Oak Street where a seven-year-old boy was shot.
Police Chief Forte said a fight broke out between the child's dad and his mother's ex-boyfriend. Police said the biological father struck the ex-boyfriend with a gun and it discharged, hitting the child. Police said the child is expected to be okay.
Neighbors told FOX 4 the family who lives in the home is typically quiet.
"I haven't seen anything negative," said neighbor Greg Peterson. "I haven't heard yelling, there's no loud music, I mean they are just nice neighbors."
Police have not said whether or not any arrests have been made.
