ATCHISON, Kan. — One person is dead after a crash near Atchison, Kan., Monday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened just after 9:30 p.m. near the Amelia Earhart Bridge.

Charles McGrigg, 74, of Weston, Mo., died at the scene.

Investigators say McGrigg crossed the center line and hit a tractor-trailer head on.

The tractor-trailer driver was treated at the scene and later released.
