KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Royals' wild Wildcard win over the Oakland A's brings a smile to the faces of Royals' fans, every time it's recounted.

The team accomplished a thrilling 9-8 win over the Oakland Athletics. And with that, after 29 years of baseball drought, they were playing baseball in October!

Now the team's post-season start is immortalized in a book created by a Royals fan for young Royals fans. He wanted his children to remember the glorious season when the Royals were American League champs and made it all the way to Game 7 of the World Series.

Watch in the video player above, as FOX 4 photojournalist Jon Haiduk, turns the pages for us on the new children's book: "The Night the World Turned Royal Blue."  You can buy it on Amazon or Barnes and Noble. You can also get it at Restoration Emporium, 1300 Liberty Street. They are open Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m-3 p.m.! You can call 913-915-2124 for more information.

Sample excerpt:

A soft grounder from Cain left us two outs away
From all that blue hope quickly fading to grey
Then up came Prince Hosmer who just wouldn't quit
A shot off the wall, kept the dying fire lit.
