PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. — A summer treatment program for children with ADHD graduated about 40 students Friday. The two-month program, hosted by Children’s Mercy Hospital, is meant to improve behavior and meet children’s emotional and learning needs.

Dr. Carla Allan started the program three years ago. As a psychologist, she saw a need for the program in the community. Enrollment has doubled each year.

One family has been a part of the program from the beginning. They describe it as a boot camp for kids that helps them in every area of their lives.
