Area veterans spark campaign to collect shoes for disabled veterans

SHAWNEE, Kan. — Area veterans are making a difference this holiday with a shoe campaign to help disabled veterans in the area.

The campaign’s goal is to collect 1,000 pairs of shoes this year.

The shoes and clothes collected will then be donated to the Kansas Disabled Veterans store in Kansas City, Kan.  Money raised there also goes towards helping open a VFW building in the area.

Drop-off locations include:
Shawnee City Hall
John B Glaser Fire Station
Shawnee Police Department
Shawnee Civic Center
Downtown Coffee House
