RAYTOWN, Mo. — Three domestic abuse survivors are gaining new freedom Thursday thanks to an auto repair shop.

Sci-Tech Automotive graciously donated three nice cars to single women who are on their own after escaping abusive relationships.

Working in conjunction with the domestic abuse shelter Hope House, the vehicles help provide these victims independence and confidence to restart their lives. Sci-Tech Automotive says the cars have been thoroughly repaired and are all road-ready.

Victims such as Amy say she appreciates having property of her own, where she takes responsibility for it.

Another woman will be picking up her car later as part of Sci-Tech’s cars for domestic abuse victims program.

The shop says as people learn of the effort, more vehicles are donated for mechanics to repair for those overcoming abusive relationships.
