KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A sad update to a story FOX4 reported two weeks ago of a missing 29-year-old Kansas City, Kansas man.
Timms was last seen in the area of 13th Street and Central Avenue at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 24. The family reported Timms missing that same day.
His family spoke with FOX4 Friday night, saying Verlon was a good man.
The family hadn’t seen him in three weeks. His family said he worked as a forklift operator at one of the auto plants until he lost his job in December.
“He was very protective. He checked on me and his dad all the time. He was more like our daddy,” his mother, Cynthia Timms said. “We’re going to miss his company. He was always here.”
The cause of death is pending final autopsy results.
Funeral services are scheduled for next Saturday.
This incident remains under investigation by police.
