Lakeisha Shurn is living proof that 100 days of commitment can change a life. A year ago she weighed 348 pounds. Admittedly, she suffered from low self-esteem and depression.

“I thought of myself as someone who was unattractive and not fit to be married,” she said.

That’s what she used to think. Seventy-eight days into her 100 day challenge, Shurn weighed herself and was overjoyed to see a number less than 300 on the scale. Not only did Shurn lose unwanted pounds, but she was gaining self-confidence.

In Shurn’s video she says she’s ultimately found love in herself and will continue to make a conscious effort to live a healthy, active life.

Shurn is just one of many people who have taken the 100 day challenge. The website GiveIt100.com features people who have committed themselves to practicing something for 100 days.

Projects include everything from dancing to learning German to learning to ride a unicycle. Visit the Give It 100 website to get inspired or to begin a journey of your own.
