SHREVEPORT, La. — Salem is shot in a small town about 45 minutes outside of Shreveport called Grand Cane. It’s a place where southern hospitality and southern food reign supreme. The town welcomes the cast of ‘Salem’ with open arms.

“What I love is it doesn’t have a Hollywood vibe. So it’s people who are genuinely authentic and inspired to work on a series. It’s really refreshing,” said Seth Gabel.

FOX 4’S Kerri Stowell shows us how the cast and crew are adjusting to life away from the glitz and glam.

“The longer I’m here, the more biscuits and gravy I eat and the more happier I get,” Tamzin Merchant said.

“It’s just us. We don’t have anybody else. So we have to like and hang out with each other,” Ashley Madekwe said.

“Salem” Season 2 premieres Sunday, April 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on WGN America, our sister network.
