Charges filed in KCK shooting near 25th, Metropolitan

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome A. Gorman Thursday filed charges against a 19-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man in connection with the April 22 shooting of an adult and two juveniles near 25th and Metropolitan Ave., in Kansas City, Kan.

Kyle C. Longdon was charged in Wyandotte County District Court with three counts of aggravated battery, one count of criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied building, and one count of criminal discharge of a firearm at an unoccupied dwelling.

Longdon is in custody in the Wyandotte County jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.

According to documents, at approximately 5:15 p.m. on April 22, in the 2500 block of Metropolitan Ave., Longdon and other individuals fired over twenty shots from a large caliber handgun at the three victims. Some of those shots struck an occupied building and an unoccupied dwelling.

The District Attorney and Kansas City, Kan., police are seeking the assistance of anyone who witnessed the shooting incident or may have knowledge of it., particularly in identifying the other perpetrators involved.
