LEAVENWORTH, Kan. - The City of Leavenworth held a meeting on Tuesday night to vote on how to handle the impending problem with wild animals. Jesse Jones told commissioners he saw a coyote regularly and he was concerned the animal would attack neighborhood children.

Even though state officials say there is no recorded coyote attacks on humans in Kansas, city commissioners voted four to nothing against allowing bow hunters to kill coyotes in the city limits.

Jones didn't attend Tuesday's meeting. But other residents voiced their opinions to FOX 4.

"I think it's a non issue, I don't think coyotes are bothering people," said Antonio Edwards.

As for shooting coyotes in Leavenworth, its a no-no at least for now.
