Council postpones discussion on grocery stores serving, selling individual alcoholic beverages

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Proposed changes to grocery stores in Kansas City are being put on hold. The city council wants a committee to spend more time discussing an ordinance that would allow grocery stores to sell liquor by the drink. Some HyVee stores around the metro have bars in their restaurants. The council committee is expected to talk about the ordinance again next week.
