OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Crews are working diligently to make repairs to a broken water main in Overland Park Thursday morning.

The break happened near 61st and Metcalf and left the roadway covered with water. The break is in the southbound lanes of Metcalf, north of 61st Street.

The break caused traffic to be reduced to one lane in the area while repairs are being made. Traffic is being diverted onto Johnson Drive.

WaterOne PIO  Darci Meese says the break occurred in an 8-inch main. It is not clear how long repairs will take. Water is currently shut off in the area, and three customers are without water.
