KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Potential Google customers got a sneak peek at how fast Google Fiber really is on Saturday. The company opened its doors to give customers hands on demonstrations of what it has to offer.

For many people it’s hard to understand what a gig can do, it’s simply hard for people to visualize that until they come into this space and actually see what a gig can do. According to Goole Fiber, the company says internet speeds will be 100 times faster at 944 megabits per second.

So, if you download or upload information with Google Fiber, we’re told you’ll’ have the information when you want it and won’t have to wait on your computer to buffer the data.

“Well so far, I think the Google experiment is awesome,” said John Daniels, Jr.

Daniels calls himself a technology freak and is excited for Google to roll out service in his neighborhood or Fiberhood as Google calls its coverage area.

“I’ve already pre-registered in my neighborhood and I’m going to go out and canvass the rest so we can pre-register and meet requirements  so we can get installed this year,” he said.

Daniels isn’t the only person who’s all Google eyed for Google!John Howard of Overland Park is jonesing for Google but his hood is out of Google’s reach.

“I think the local competition has a lot to worry about if they’re paying attention,” Howard said.

Aside from high-speed internet service, Google is also offering fiber t-v. It’s like a mini version of cable without the plethora of channels. It comes with video games and a tablet that can be used as a remote control.

“You can record up to eight shows at a time and you have a lot of storage  in there. You can record 500 hours of HG content from any of the televisions in your home,” said Rachel Hack with Google.
